A Stranger’s Spellbook
The Deck Exchange is a Yankee Swap, Magic style. Every willing spellslinger builds and sleeves a deck around a randomly chosen theme, tucks in an anonymous primer, and lays it in the center. Pick one, play a couple of games — and it is yours to keep.

How the Exchange Works
Step the First
Spin the Wheel
Before September 25, the theme generator gives you two random themes — pick one to build around. Past gems: a commander who is a cutie patootie, -1/-1 counters, or a Background commander.
Step the Second
Build and Sleeve
Brew a deck up to $75 Card Kingdom value (tracked in Moxfield or Archidekt) within Bracket 1–2. Goldfish it a few times, then order your cards by September 25.
Step the Third
Submit a Primer
Send Derek an anonymous primer: the deck's name, its theme, the commander, and 2 to 3 sentences on how it feels to play and how it wins.
Step the Fourth
Swap at Con
On October 16, bring it sleeved. We provide deck boxes and print your primers; basic lands too, if you ask ahead. Then pick a deck, play, and take it home.
